Cross-Industry Collaboration with International Chef Andre Chiang
To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Ruyi Sunnycake has partnered with internationally acclaimed chef Andre Chiang to launch a new collaborative creation: the "French King Sun Cake."

Since its establishment, Ruyi Sunnycake has always been dedicated to preserving the beauty of Taiwanese pastries while continuously innovating. On this significant milestone, we hope to kick off the next decade with a special collaboration.
"A Golden Journey of Taste" sets the stage for this collaboration, a journey filled with the importance of preserving pastry culture and the commitment to continuous breakthroughs. To commemorate this special milestone, Ruyi Sunnycake and internationally renowned chef Andre Chiang have jointly created a new cross-cultural classic, blending East and West, and combining time-honored classic pastries. Integrating the Suncake, which originated in central Taiwan, and the Galette des Rois, a must-have for French households every year, this collaboration reinterprets pastries that represent reunion and blessings in France and Taiwan, breathing new life into classics.

International Chef Andre Chiang
Andre Chiang is Taiwan's first Michelin-starred chef and has twice been hailed by Time magazine as "the greatest chef in the Indian Ocean," enjoying a high reputation in the international culinary world.

From Taiwan to Paris: A Cultural Fusion Across East and West
The inspiration for the "French King Sun Cake des Rois" comes from Chef Andre Chiang's initial thought: "How can the Suncake penetrate deeper into the hearts of Taiwanese people?" Chef Andre Chiang drew inspiration from the Galette des Rois, a classic pastry originating in the 13th century and deeply rooted in the hearts of the French people through generations. Through its symbolic meaning of blessings, he reinterpreted the Suncake, collaborating with Ruyi Sunnycake's master bakers with over 40 years of experience, to open a new chapter in the cultural fusion of Taiwanese and French pastries.

From Galette des Rois to French King Sun Cake: A Journey of Taste Exploration and Innovation
Using the Suncake as its base, the pastry ingeniously combines the common flaky crust characteristic of both the Galette des Rois and the Suncake. The filling continues the classic almond cream of the French Galette des Rois, made with Spanish almond flour, premium French butter, and French vanilla beans. It offers a crumbly yet non-greasy texture and a smooth, rich consistency. Finally, Barbados rum aged in American white oak bourbon barrels adds a captivating finishing touch to the filling, bringing rich and delicate layers with a lingering aftertaste. Each bite is a dialogue between Eastern and Western cultures, creating unforgettable taste memories for pastry lovers.

Transcending Time: The Exquisite Presentation of Palace Aesthetics
From the first glance to the first bite, it's full of surprises both inside and out.The core concept of the gift box is derived from "export paintings" of the Qing dynasty, centered on the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures, and styled with palace aesthetics that cross East and West, and span ancient and modern times, to echo the product's cross-era and cross-cultural positioning. Upon opening the gift box, the first thing that catches the eye is the specially designed petal-box structure. Amidst a sense of ceremony, the French window frames formed by dark green lines, the hundred scenes of classical figures and small animals in a garden, and the sun patterns symbolizing the suncake, all unfold like a grand palace afternoon tea feast, gracefully initiating a splendid chapter where East meets West.
This "French King Sun Cake des Rois," launched in collaboration with international chef Andre Chiang, deeply interprets the unique charm of pastry culture, drawing taste stories that transcend culture and time from a myriad of flavors. Ruyi Sunnycake will continue to be rooted in Taiwan while looking globally, not only telling the story of pastries but also the story of our era, opening up new possibilities for Taiwanese pastries.
