Description

Honey Scented Oolong

A masterpiece produced collaboratively by farmers and tea green leafhoppers. The honey flavor in the tea comes from the special tannins released after the tea leaves are bitten by the green leafhoppers. In the northern Hualien-Taitung region, tea farmers make it into honey scented black tea, such as "Wuhe Black Tea." In the Taoyuan-Hsinchu-Miaoli region, it is the renowned "Oriental Beauty Tea." In our central Oolong tea region, we follow the Oolong tea production process to create "Honey Scented Oolong."

Since the raw tea leaves are different from before, as they have already been bitten and damaged by green leafhoppers on the tea trees, special care and attention are required during processing. From plucking and wilting to roasting, meticulous care is taken. During the roasting process, repeated evaluations are necessary to ensure the best presentation and good storage longevity!

Brewing Suggestions:

The tea soup has a solid and mellow taste, so you can use a slightly smaller amount of tea leaves than usual. When brewing, the water temperature should not be too high (preferably 80-90 degrees Celsius). It is suitable for hot brewing and tasting, and can also be cold brewed. Cold brewing can better bring out the honey characteristics!

Tea Green LeafhopperThe source of the honey flavor in Honey Scented Oolong comes from the bites of green leafhoppers. To attract green leafhoppers to feed, tea farmers reduce or completely avoid spraying pesticides. Therefore, this Honey Scented Oolong tea is particularly favored by those who prioritize health and wellness.

Brewing suggestions for Honey Scented Oolong:

Since Honey Scented Oolong is also a type of insect-bitten tea, the tea leaves themselves are already damaged, resulting in higher tannins and a stronger flavor. Therefore, extra care should be taken when brewing. It is recommended to use a slightly lower water temperature (after boiling, cool the water to around 90 degrees Celsius), or reduce the steeping time by 5-10 seconds compared to regular brewing. The tea will still have a good flavor and be long-lasting. Friends who have purchased it can give it a try.

After low-temperature roasting, the tea flavor will be even purer. Whether consumed immediately or after a period of time, the flavor remains unchanged.

Honey Scented Oolong Tea

If you prefer the aroma of tea or are relatively new to tea, the Original Honey Scented Oolong is perfect for you. This tea originally has a higher degree of leafhopper biting, so the honey flavor is the most intense. We only do light roasting to preserve the original honey aroma of the tea. The taste is refreshing and sweet, with an excellent aftertaste. Cold brewing brings out the honey flavor even better, and the tea flavor is still very rich.
